Hey guys, new member here. I have always wanted to start a journal thread but kept procrastinating, and today is the day to start doing it (yeah I know, finally).

For this project, I'm going to revive one of my old untouched Amazon sites. It's a 5-year old domain and has expired 1-2 times (didn't renew on time, but within the grace period).

The site doesn't generate much at the moment, probably $10 to $20 per year, just enough to cover domain renewal fees.

    Basic site stats:

    Ahrefs Rank - 160M
    Ahrefs DR - 6
    Moz DA - 10
    Less than 5 referring domains

    Reasons to revive it:

    • The domain name is quite brandable
    • It has about 20 product review articles posted (1000 words minimum)
    • The site might avoid sandbox effect if I were to build back links to it
    • I just want to complete a project that was set out to be completed 5 years ago

    Goal:

My goal is to reach $250 per month for the site, hopefully within this year. The target is not high because I want it to be achievable and not stress myself out.

Things to do in Week 1:

    • Redesign the homepage (it's fugly now)
    • Get new articles written
    • Set up and install all the necessary plugins
That's pretty much it, I'm going to start doing what was planned and will keep this thread updated (hopefully you guys will be interested in this project)!

    Weekly Update #1

It has been a busy week but I've got all the things done as planned for the week.
    • Homepage redesigned
    • Set up all necessary plugins
    • Connected WMT, Analytics, Clicky
    • Chose 1 main keyword for the homepage, 1 main keyword for inner page (both never targeted before and are not currently ranking)
    • Corrected existing articles (grammar and spelling errors)
    • Picked some Amazon products to target
    • Ordered 1 pillar article for the inner page
Things to do in Week 2:
    • Start tracking keywords
    • Post the pillar article when it's ready
    • Create a link map
    • Get some foundation links
    • Start doing outreach for guest post
Feel free to leave some comments :)

    Weekly Update #2

Here's a list of things I've done for the week.
    • Republished existing articles
    • Manually submitted each URL to re-crawl in GWMT
    • Got my pillar article from writer and published it (started to rank for its main keyword in top 100 but dancing around)
    • Planned a link map
    • Started guest post outreach for pillar article
Things to do in Week 3:
    • Build more links
    • Continue guest post outreach
It's good that the target keyword is starting to rank in top 100 even though it's dancing around. I hope new links will come in soon and push it to top 10 in SERP.

It has been a while since I last updated this thread. I did not give up the site, but there wasn't much to update. There has been a change of plan as I figured normal guest post outreach is taking too much time. I have decided to go with PBN links for this site.

    Things I have done:

    Ordered 10 PBN links
    Ordered social signal package
